Adam Lambert
This bold look is great for the modern, chic male who likes to be noticed. Here is how to get hair like Adam Lambert:
- Book a consultation with your stylist about your all over color. If you are naturally a medium-light blond (naturally or colored) you will want to book what we call a “color correction.” The appropriate amount of warmth/depth must be added first before applying a permanent or demipermanent blue-black hue. If you are naturally/colored brown you may achieve this look in one step with a permanent or demipermanent blue-black color. Make sure to use barrier cream around the hairline as the color might stain the skin!
- Adam’s haircut can be achieved by cutting a medium-length men’s cut with shears. Make sure there is a minimum of 2″ of hair on top and a minimum of 1″ of hair on the back and sides. Leave the bang area extra long in comparison. A razor can be liberally used all over to create texture (unless you have fine hair) and height. Then, the razor may be used to deliberately add texture and shape to the bang area while making sure not to eliminate length.
- Some products to achieve this look are: Kevin Murphy’s Luxury Wash and Rinse, Easy Rider (before drying to control frizz) Sticky Business (texture and hold) and Fudge’s Membrane Gas (extreme hold). Piece out whatever height you like, bring the bang to the side and apply the Sticky Business conservatively. Then add spray.
Adam is by far my favorite American Idol and I don’t even watch the show all that much but it is impossible to miss the viral videos that spread like fire via Twitter and Blogs. Is Adam Lambert Gay?….who cares, this boy can sing and he has a great style. Check out my favorite performance where Adam sings Mad World, it makes me want to watch Donnie Darko!
