Tonight on Pike St. VH1’s Save the Music Foundation is putting on a charity show with DJ AM headlining. Here is the cause it is meant to benefit:
The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in American public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
Since 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided $43 million worth of new musical instruments to more than 1,600 public schools in more than 100 cities around the country, impacting the lives of more than 1.2 million public school students.
The event will feature a memorable stage and lighting experience that complements the overall theme of the tour. Designed by multimedia environment company, Moment Factory, an old-school boom box will illuminate the room and serve as a backdrop for performing music acts. Adding to the visual appeal, renowned illustrators and designers have produced limited edition posters and silk-screen t-shirt designs to create an experience that lives on with attendees long after the event.
