Its time for the next round of the zombie apocalypse with Resident Evil: AfterLife opening this weekend on September 10th. This flick continues the story after the last chapter (Extinction) in which Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter’s characters travel to Alaska to find survivors and safety. This movie is exciting as it is not only going to be in 3D and 3D IMAX, but also will be utilizing James Cameron’s Camera Fusion system that helps to create stereoscopic depth to the film.

Over the past few movies we have seen Milla’s character, Alice, change her look for each film. Originally, her hair was soft and sweet with overall medium beige blond highlights. This look can be achieved through a balayage technique where the mid-shaft to the ends are painted with bleach or high lift haircolor. Make sure to deep condition after a lightening service as the moisture inside the hair that defends against breakage will be depleted. Try Intense Moisture Masque by Moroccan Oil, it only takes 5 minutes after shampooing and does not require heat.

In the next films, Alice’s hair slowly eliminates her soft highlights as she transforms into a hard core fighter. In the Afterlife installment, we see Alice in two different hair looks. The first we see throughout the movie: a darker cool brown hue with a swingy bob. A bob is any haircut that rests anywhere from slightly above the shoulders to just below the ear. Discovering the best length of a bob can be discovered by looking at face shape. A long, rectangular face shape can take a shorter bob as it will eliminate dragging the visual perception of the face down. A round face shape should utilize as much length as possible and can be a good candidate for an inverted bob where the front is longer than the nape. If you have wavy/curly hair make sure to ask your stylist to use minimal tension to avoid the shape bouncing up too short when it is dry. The cool dark color can be permanent or demipermanent depending on your maintenance needs. We recommend refreshing demi permanents every 2- 3 months and permanent can be retouched anywhere from 4-12 weeks depending on the contrast between the regrowth and the desired shade.

The second look is almost high fashion as we see Alice’s clones all don the look of a dark, slick, high ponytail. Most likely this was created for the movie through the use of a hair weft or added ponytail. You can try this, too! Slick your hair into a ponytail using Easy Rider by Kevin Murphy to control flyaways and give shine. Then spray with Session Spray by Kevin Murphy for extreme hold. Go to Trade Secret and Sally’s Beauty Supply who sell these ponytails in varying lengths and can either be pinned or cinched into place. Then voila! You instantly have a new sexy look!
We look forward to seeing Alice kick some zombie and Umbrella Corporation butt as if it’s right in front of us! Yay for 3D!
