Concert Update – Freelance Whales at the Crocodile, 11/17

We love this little indie rock band from New York that is making big waves with their electronic infused pop rock “amalgam” as they describe themselves on their myspace page. Everything about this band makes it appealing, the banjo riffs, the sticky melodies, the post-shoegaze metasounds. Now if that doesn’t get you excited, check out one of their songs here:

The show is at the Crocodile Cafe on 11/17 with Fanfairlo. Tickets and more information here.

Concert Update – Raveonettes at Neumos 11/6

Copenhagen band, The Raveonettes, is coming to Seattle with a show on November 6th at 8pm at Neumos. This indie rock band plays reserved electronic rock music that is melodic and extremely addicting. It makes great music to work hard to and as a result we’ve become big fans! Here is their latest single “Last Dance”. While the video is decidedly mediocre, but the song is top notch!

Concert Update – Mum at the Showbox 11/3

Icelandic indie musicians, Mum, is back in the states on another tour and on November 3rd they are hitting up the Showbox for their Seattle show. This is sure to be a great show with Mum’s eccentric playing style. We caught them at Neumo’s last time they rolled into town and it was a fantastic show. Be sure to get there early to grab a drink the Green Room and being able to enter the venue before everyone waiting outside! Here is a music video for Mum’s song Green Grass of Tunnel:

Well Seattle, Gossip rocked the town this summer in the Capitol Hill Block Party and now they are back headlining a show at the Showbox on October 23rd. With opening acts MEN and Champagne Champagne, this is sure to be a awesome show. Gossip’s latest album, Music for Men is catchy, upbeat, and extremely enjoyable to listen to. Combined with lead singer Beth Ditto’s formidable showmanship, any concert by Gossip is an extremely enjoyable experience. We recommend getting their early and grabbing one of the seats overlooking the stage in the bar. Best seats in the house! Check out the video for Gossip’s hit single, “Heavy Cross”

Concert Update – The Temper Trap at the Crocodile 10/17

Oh how we loved (500) Day of Summer! And one of the greatest parts of the movie was the amazing sound track that accompanied it, including the lead single by Temper Trap, Sweet Disposition. Now that Melbourne, Australia’s Temper Trap has released their new album, we can add Fader to the list of great songs. We are super excited to see Temper Trap live in concert and see if they can deliver the same great performance as on the CD. The Temper Trap will be playing October 17th at the newly renovated Crocodile Cafe in Belltown. More details can be found here. Check out this great music video for Sweet Disposition:

Concert Update – Grizzly Bear at The Moore 10/16

Grizzly Bear, the Boston-born band, made waves in the indie rock scene with the hit single Two Weeks to the point that their latest release “Veckatimest” charted in the top 10 on the Billboard. This was odd since the band’s preview release “Yellow House” was highly acclaimed in the elite hipster circles in Brooklyn and Portland. Regardless, Grizzly Bear’s catchy tunes and obvious talent has helped the band rise up to mainstream acclaim that is much deserved.

Grizzly Bear will be back in Seattle for a headlining performance at the historic Moore Theater on October 16th. Tickets and more information can be found here. Check out the video for Two Weeks here:
