Pacific Northwest Ballet presents Nutcracker

The holiday season just isn’t the same without all the trappings of Christmas, such as pop-rock holiday music, mad rushes at the mall, and gingerbread lattes, but one absolute must every holiday season is the annual showing of the Nutcracker by the Pacific Northwest Ballet. This production of Hoffman’s classic tale includes some impressive dancing, massive sets, and one giant mouse king. Easily PNB’s most iconic performance, if there is one ballet you attend, this is the one you should see.

The Nutcracker’s season began on Nov 27th and will run through December 30th. If you are looking for something a little different, the Dec 30th performance is what they call the “Nutty Nutcracker” performance where the cast gets to let off a little steam and have fun with there own version of the tale. Thanksgiving is next week BUT its not long until an onslaught of holiday celebrations with coworkers, friends and family start to fill up your social roster!

One way to be prepared during our busy season is to pre-book your formal styling and updos with us! A great tip when trying to figure out how you would like your hair done for these picture taking opportunities is to gather a few pictures (try Google or pick up a hair magazine at a drugstore) to show your stylist what you are visualizing. You can even bring in pictures of what you DON’T want in order to communicate the boundaries of your consultation.

Our base price for a formal updo will be $65.00 starting December 1rst. If you have hair below your shoulder blades or need extra iron curling or flat-ironing there is an additional $10 charge.

Watch Psycho with Live Seattle Symphony Performance (10/29-10/31)

In honor of the Halloween season, the Seattle Symphony is doing special live performances of the Hitchcock classic Psycho. See the movie on the big screen at Benaroya Hall while Seattle Symphony will provide the live sound track. This is sure to be a blast and a great start to any night of Halloween festivities! Patriotic Hair: Emerson Celebrates the 4th of July


Here is our hair blog tribute to America’s birthday this fourth of July. We will be open until around 3pm today so walk-in for a cut or give us a call!

Be safe tonight and remember!!

Seattle’s only fireworks display is on Lake Union (Ivar’s on Elliott Bay was cancelled) so make sure to give yourself ample time if you are planning on getting to south Lake Union or Gasworks park. 50,000 people are expected at the park and they intend to turn people away if the crowd is too thick! Fireworks start at 10pm. We can’t wait!

We Will Be Closed On Monday For Memorial Day / Sasquatch Festival

This Monday is Memorial Day and Emerson Salon will be closed. We will be at the Sasquatch Music Festival rocking out to Silversun Pickups, Fleet Foxes, Santigold and Grizzly Bear. Aside from this Monday, Emerson Salon will be open normal business hours this weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
