In The Chair: With Jesse Codling

Welcome to the second installation of our new segment: “In The Chair

This week we interview Jesse Codling from forYoungModerns.com

photo

In a 140 characters or less tell us a little about yourself or what you do in Seattle?

My name is Jesse Codling, I am the Art Director of forYoungModerns.com -a West Coast Living website. FYM covers the best of Art/Music/Culture in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Everyone has that one person who you admire for their style, their hair and overall attitude. Who in Seattle do you admire for their style?

Photographer Edwin Ross of course. He has a courageous, take no prisoners attitude towards fashion. And also boasts the most amazing hair (and color), that would put any hipster on Capitol Hill to shame.

Who cut your hair?

Ellen! She is amazing. Taking her time, she listened to my needs, and was thoughtful enough to go over my hair one last time, when it was dry, to take care of any wild ends (which is especially nice since I have thick curly hair).

What hairstyle would you ban if you could?

‘The Donald’ (as made famous by Donald Trump)

Fashion trend you wish would catch on or that you could bring back?

I would like to personally bring back the class & look of a nice gentlemen’s cap. One that can only be purchased at a fine hat shop, such as Byrnie Utz Hat’s in Seattle.

Favorite Seattle boutique to do your Holiday shopping?

The Queen Anne Dispatch. It‘s the quintessential one-stop shop. This neighborhood boutique features high-end style (promoting local designers), obscenely awesome greeting cards, and will even pack/ship your purchases to friends and family across the country.

Your New Year’s Resolution?

To give peace a chance.

In The Chair: With Keridwyn Deller

Welcome to our new segment “In The Chair

Every other week or so we plan to bring you an interview with a Seattle rockstar.  This week we had the fabulous Keridwyn Deller from Social Magnet Marketing in our chair.

new haircut

In a 140 characters or less tell us a little about yourself or what you do in Seattle?

Seattle gal who enjoys dancing, happy hours & costume/theme parties, sushi, supporting fun events that “do good” & working in social media.

Everyone has that one person who you admire for their style, their hair and overall attitude. Who in Seattle do you admire for their style?

Alix Rose has a great sense of style and is a warm, genuine person, to boot. Her blog is a perfect blend of designer wear, accessible fashion tips (I adore that she blogged about the coat she scored at the Goodwill glitter sale) and also supports local designers and businesses. One of her many likable traits is her fun, self-expressive style that she puts into what she wears and encourages in others. Her blog: http://www.alixrose.com

Who cut your hair?

Tracy cut my hair – this is the second time I’ve seen her and I’m hooked!

What hairstyle would you ban if you could?

I’m all for people having the hair they want, even if it’s not loved by the masses. That said, I think a rat tail is the train wreck of hairstyles.

Fashion trend you wish would catch on or that you could bring back?

I’d love to see the return of the slap bracelet.

Favorite Seattle boutique to do your Holiday shopping?

I had a fun time shopping in Retrofit and Retail Therapy recently. Fini in Pike Place Market is also a favorite.

Your New Year’s Resolution?

I make Birthday Resolutions, since that’s the start of MY new year. Come February, I’ll probably lean on familiar themes like working out and finding a new hobby.
