Tara Bowden's Bio

About Tara Bowden- I’ve lived in Washington for most of my life, the last 9 years in the city of Seattle, mainly managing small independent coffee shops. In most recent years I’ve worked as a make-up artist/ stylist. My husband and I own a small photography company called Locket Studios, as well as Cbowden photography. As our shared vision for our company started to grow, I decided to study cosmetology and graduated from the Gene Juarez Academy. I love being able to do my own thing with my clients in the salon, and also work with my husband on location. It’s the best of both worlds and it’s such a fun and creative outlet for me. My more passionate services include- textured cuts, color, highlights, and creative vintage inspired styles. The things that usually busy up my time outside of work and that I feel passionate about is volunteering for a small non-profit organization called Rest (which serves to help women and children in being rescued from the Sex trade/industry), and anything to do with art and crafts.

Favorite hair product
Moroccan oil! It leaves the hair silky smooth while adding moisture and shine without weighing the hair down, and it smells amazing!
Where you can find me on Friday night
Working until 8:00pm, and then probably off to a local music show, goofing off with friends, or at home snuggled up to my wonderful husband and best friend.
Favorite hairstyle
For women, I love the more edgy out of the box hairstyles; anything with lot’s of texture, layers, bangs, movement. For Men, I also love the more textured, grown out look, or a classic vintage style.
What I love most about being a stylist
I love people! I love being creative and working with clients to give them a unique hairstyle that they love. It’s the best feeling when someone walks away feeling better than when they first came, and loving their hair! More than that I strive to see every person that I interact with as a person with dignity, extreme value, and worth getting to know. I love being able to connect with people on a deeper more personal level.
